De même que Pebble Beach ou Chantilly, c'est l'assurance de découvrir des autos plus ou moins légendaires et inestimables. Avec cette petite touche en plus dont seuls les Italiens ont le secret, un art de vivre et un cadre qui rendent le show mémorable à chaque fois. Créé en 1929 et ressuscité par BMW en 1999, le concours est logiquement riche en modèles de la marque à l'hélice. Cette année, le constructeur allemand en profitait pour lever le voile sur la M4 CSL ultra-sportive, en plus d'amener un exemplaire de la voiture neuve la plus chère du monde la fameuse Rolls-Royce Boat Tail qui sera ensuite livrée à son propriétaire ayant déboursé pas moins de 26 millions d'euros pour la réserver. Mais il n'y a pas que des BMW à voir à la Villa d'Este. Cette année, le concours d'élégance a récompensé la sublime Bugatti Type 57 S Vanvooren ainsi que la très impressionnante Aston Martin Bulldog. On fêtait aussi les 75 ans de Ferrari, alors que Bugatti a amené sa très seyante Bolide exclusivement réservée au circuit. Et les incontournables des concours d'élégance étaient à peu près tous présents.
